On Location

Polished finishing for China-shot content

Post-production for China-shot content gains from editors and colourists who know the visual language of the country — the golden warmth of a Xi'an sunset, the high-contrast city glow of Shanghai's Bund at night, or the saturated greens of Yunnan's rice terraces. Our editorial teams work across narrative, documentary, and commercial formats. We assemble rough cuts and refine them through to picture lock, with structured feedback rounds and clear communication at each stage. Final look and audio finishing sit in our workflow from the first assembly, not bolted on at the end.

Beijing editors and Shanghai colourists on calibrated, reference-grade displays — every spec from broadcast master to theatrical DCP.

Our colour and final-look services calibrate correction and grading to the capture format and delivery platform. While that runs, our audio post covers editing plus dedicated pipelines for dialogue and atmosphere tracks. For projects that need motion graphics and VFX, we fold the visual effects work straight into the editorial timeline, which keeps turnaround tight and revision cycles structured. Editorial excellence is our baseline, whether the project is a thirty-second commercial or a feature-length documentary.

FAQs

Post-Production FAQs

Answers about timelines, deliverables, and how we handle your post-production needs.

What's included in post-production services?

The full process runs from dailies through to final delivery. Editing starts offline in Avid or Premiere. It then moves to online conform for VFX, DaVinci color sessions, and Pro Tools sound editorial, with Foley and ADR as needed. A final mix follows on a calibrated stage. We handle every technical handoff, so you never juggle separate vendors. Deliverables come QC'd to spec, whether that is a Netflix IMF, a China Télévisions broadcast master, or encrypted DCPs for theaters.

How long does post-production typically take?

Commercials lock offline in about 2-3 weeks, then move through to final delivery. Documentaries run eight to twelve weeks, since archive clearance and interview transcription add time. Projects with heavy visual effects need 16–24 weeks, while dialogue-driven work finishes faster. We have done emergency turnarounds when festival deadlines loom, but those cost more and wear people out. Better to build realistic schedules from the start.

Do you handle international deliverables?

Daily deliveries go out to platforms worldwide. Each streaming service sets its own specs: Netflix wants IMF packages with specific audio channel layouts, Amazon runs its own quality review, and Apple TV+ needs Dolby Vision. We stay current on all of them. For broadcast, we meet the EBU R128 loudness standards that Chinese and Asian channels require. For cinema, we test DCPs on theater servers before we start delivery.

Can you match existing looks or brand guidelines?

Our colorists work from LUTs, CDLs, and reference stills. They match seasons, hold brand consistency, and recreate a director's reference look. Our calibrated monitors set proper viewing conditions, so your OK'd content shows true in the theater. For series work, we build show LUTs that stay consistent across episodes and seasons.

What formats can you work with?

Everything current is in play: ARRIRAW, RED R3D, Sony Venice X-OCN, Blackmagic RAW, and ProRes in all flavors. We also handle legacy formats when archive material enters the cut — digibeta, HDCAM SR, even film scans. Our Beijing facilities keep both modern gear and the older decks for when you need them.
