SCENE 01 / COLOR CORRECTION
Color Correction
Professional color correction services ensuring technical accuracy and visual consistency across your entire production.
Color correction is the technical work of balancing footage. It keeps exposure, white balance, and tonal range steady across every shot. This first step fixes the mismatches that come from changing light, different cameras, or varied shooting spots.
We connect you with colorists and grading suites ready to deliver pro color correction. Our team handles media prep, session scheduling, and quality control. That work lands your footage on steady, accurate color, a solid base for creative grading.

On Location
Technical colour correction for Chinese productions
Colour correction is the base layer. It must be clean before any creative grade can start. This matters even more on Chinese shoots. They often mix many camera systems, blend daylight with practical sources, and move through fast-changing locations. Those range from the harsh midday light of Gobi or Xinjiang, to the warm tungsten interiors of restored Beijing hutongs, the diffused haze of the Shanghai bund, and the cool Hengdian sound-stage practicals.
Our post team runs primary correction sessions in calibrated DaVinci Resolve and Baselight bays. These sit inside Base FX Beijing, More VFX, Beijing Film Group Post, and Shanghai Film Studio Post. The colorists trained at Beijing Film Academy and in the Hong Kong cinema tradition. They balance exposure, remove unwanted casts, and align skin-tone reference across every camera source in the cut.
The workflow opens with a technical check of the footage. We read the scopes — waveform, vectorscope, and parade — against the rec.709 or DCI-P3 working space. Shot-by-shot primary correction follows, and it sets a steady baseline before any creative pass begins. We handle ARRIRAW, RED R3D, Sony Venice X-OCN, ProRes 4444 XQ, and DNxHR sources inside ACES or Resolve Color Managed pipelines. Footage from many cameras is matched frame-for-frame, so cuts read as one clean sequence.
We check final masters against NRTA broadcast-safe levels. That covers delivery to CCTV, Hunan TV, Dragon TV, or Phoenix TV. When the same package ships worldwide, we also check EBU R128 or ATSC A/85 loudness. Detailed QC reports travel with each delivery, so downstream finishing teams and TV networks can sign off cleanly.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between color correction and color grading?
Color correction is the technical work of balancing exposure, removing color casts, and keeping shots consistent. Grading is the creative step that follows, where we build specific looks and styles. We usually finish correction first to set a clean base before we apply creative grades.
Can you match footage from different cameras?
Yes. Our team specializes in matching footage from many camera systems with different color science. Whether you combine ARRI, RED, Sony, or Canon footage, we balance each source so scenes match seamlessly across your whole project.
How do you ensure broadcast compliance?
We use pro scopes — waveform, vectorscope, histogram — and automated QC tools. These confirm all footage meets broadcast-safe levels for your target platform. That covers luminance, chrominance, and gamut compliance for specs like EBU R128, SMPTE, and platform needs.
What formats and resolutions do you support?
We handle every pro format, including ARRIRAW, RED R3D, Sony RAW, ProRes, DNxHD, and more, in resolutions from HD through 8K. Our color-managed pipeline keeps color accurate no matter the source format or delivery specs.
