Online conform is the technical assembly stage. Every creative choice from offline edit, colour, VFX, and audio is rebuilt at full resolution against the high-quality source media. On a typical Chinese feature or series, the timelines mix many formats. They combine ARRIRAW and RED R3D from principal photography, Sony Venice X-OCN from VFX plates, MOV ProRes from drone units shooting Gobi or Yangtze aerials, and graphics packages built in Beijing or Shanghai motion-design houses.
Our post team runs the conform through Avid Symphony, Resolve Studio, or Baselight bays. These sit at Base FX Beijing, More VFX, Beijing Film Group Post, or iQIYI Post Production. We check the frame-accurate EDL and AAF rebuild shot by shot against the locked picture before any finishing work begins.
Quality control then runs on the conformed master. It is checked against the tech specs of every destination on the delivery list. NRTA broadcast spec covers CCTV, Hunan TV, Dragon TV, and Phoenix TV ingest. Streaming profiles cover iQIYI, Tencent Video, Youku, Mango TV, and Bilibili for domestic OTT. Netflix Originals or Amazon Studios specs cover global SVOD versions. DCI rules cover Wanda Cinemas, CGV China, and Bona Cineplex theatrical packages. EBU R128 or ATSC A/85 loudness covers global networks.
Automated QC through Interra Baton or Venera Pulsar runs alongside a manual operator review. That review covers frame-by-frame artefact checks, audio sync drift, subtitle timing, safe-area conformance, and full metadata. It also checks HDR static metadata for Dolby Vision or HDR10 deliverables. Issues get flagged with frame-specific timecodes, so fixes happen before submission rather than as costly rejection cycles from the receiving TV networks.
