SCENE 01 / WIRELESS AUDIO SYSTEMS

Wireless Audio Systems

Professional wireless microphones and RF coordination for productions throughout China.

Scroll

Wireless audio systems send microphone signals, intercom feeds, and tracking audio without cables across the set. Our team plans frequencies that meet MIIT rules at Chinese locations. We manage the busy RF environment of Beijing and Shanghai, and we make sure all wireless gear meets Chinese import and license needs. Digital wireless gives clear, reliable audio, so talent can move freely and sound crews stay flexible on tricky shoots.

We source wireless systems with the channel count and frequency plan your production needs across China. Our team runs range scans that meet MIIT wireless frequency rules, sets up the system, and keeps backup gear ready. This gives you clean, interference-free audio at every location, however tricky the site.

MIIT-coordinated wireless tuned to China's post-700 MHz spectrum

Wireless audio in China sits in one of the most tightly ruled spectrum environments on earth. MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology — China's FCC-equivalent for RF spectrum) treats production wireless as a 4–6 week pre-production filing, not a same-day fix. The 700 MHz band went to 5G mobile carriers, which pushed pro wireless into the remaining UHF slots. The tier-1 cities make this harder, since Beijing CBD, Shanghai Pudong, and the Shenzhen Nanshan tech corridor sit among the densest RF environments in the world.

Our packages run on Lectrosonics SRc receivers paired with SMQV and DBSM transmitters. This is the go-to rental SKU across Chinese drama and feature sets from Mango Sound Beijing, Bird Audio, Tencent Audio, and iQIYI Audio Rental. For high channel counts on CCTV and streamer originals, we add Wisycom MCR54 receivers. Sennheiser Digital 6000 comes in where the mix demands it, and Audio Ltd A10 handles low-profile body-pack work under heavy period-drama wardrobe. Our lavalier stock leans on DPA 4060/4061, Sanken COS-11, and Countryman B6, plus sweat- and movement-management kit for silk, brocade, and lacquered-armour costumes.

RF work at Chinese locations means far more than picking clean frequencies. MIIT licensing filings for foreign-led shoots take 4–6 weeks and must list each transmitter frequency, power output, and operating site. This planning is required, not optional, and unlicensed wireless on set risks NRTA escalation. We run range scans at each venue before the shoot. This matters most in the Beijing CBD, Shanghai Pudong, and Shenzhen Nanshan corridors, where many productions share one band. Our plan also allows for CCTV outside-broadcast trucks, Mango TV regional networks, and the steady traffic of Chinese commercial spectrum users.

On the ground, the setup gets more specific. Packages scale from two-channel documentary kits up to forty-plus-channel feature and drama shoots, with IFB systems (Comtek, Lectrosonics IFB, Shure PSM) added for director and talent communication. Every deployment carries backup transmitters, batteries, and antenna distribution. Each one meets NRTA on-set monitor rules and runs under CFA terms with 17% VAT forms for iQIYI, Youku, and Tencent Video originals.

FAQ

Wireless Equipment Inventory

What wireless systems do you provide?

We give pro wireless systems from top makers, including Lectrosonics (Digital Hybrid, DSQD), Wisycom (MCR series), Sennheiser (Digital 6000, EW series), and Audio Ltd (A10). The right choice depends on your needs, budget, and shooting environment.

How do you handle frequency coordination in China?

We plan frequencies to meet Chinese RF rules (ANFR). This covers range scans at your locations, planning around other shoots that share the venue, and staying within licensed bands. Our team takes on the technical side, so your production stays legal and interference-free.

What lavalier microphones do you recommend?

We give premium lavaliers from DPA (4060, 4061, 6060), Sanken (COS-11), and Countryman (B6). The right mic depends on the job, so we advise based on how you hide it, how it sounds, and how it fits the wardrobe and talent.

Can you support large multi-channel productions?

Yes. We often support shoots that need 20, 30, or 40+ wireless channels, from feature films to large commercials and live events. For these, we supply frequency planning, plenty of receivers, backup systems, and skilled operators to run complex setups.

What about IFB and communication systems?

We give IFB (interruptible foldback) systems for talent earpieces, director communication, and live broadcast. These include Comtek, Lectrosonics IFB, and Shure PSM units, tuned to match your production's wireless microphone frequencies.

Do wireless systems come with operators?

You can rent wireless gear on its own or with skilled sound crews who handle all the wireless work. For complex setups, we advise adding operators who focus on RF planning and talent wiring.

Productions in China that need this often pair it with Boom Operators, Sound Recordist Teams, and Location Sound Services for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Wireless Microphone Systems and Wireless Systems.
