Data-management workflows on Chinese productions run from on-set DIT stations through Beijing and Shanghai DI labs. What separates China from other markets is the regulatory layer on top of the workflow. The Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law and Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL, 2021) restrict cross-border transfer of certain footage types, and a streaming-platform delivery typically needs ICP licensing through MIIT. We don't ship camera originals abroad without verified PIPL-compliance review, encrypted data shuttle protocols and the right export paperwork cleared in advance — and we keep a chain-of-custody log every Chinese broadcaster and NRTA (National Radio and Television Administration) auditor expects. Our coordinator stays on call from offload through final archive, manages secure transport between unit base and the Beijing or Shanghai DI lab, and supports the handoff to international post houses through approved cross-border channels when the brief allows.
