SCENE 01 / POST PRODUCTION AUDIO

Post-Production Audio

Professional sound editing, ADR, Foley, and mixing for film and TV productions.

Scroll

Post-production audio turns raw location sound into a polished, immersive soundtrack. We work with China Film Group post facilities in Beijing and Shanghai Film Studios, and we connect you with engineers skilled in Mandarin ADR and multi-language versioning. This phase covers dialogue editing, ADR, sound design, Foley, music scoring, and final mixing. Each layer works together to build the rich audio that supports and lifts the visual story.

Our team connects you with audio facilities and engineers across China who deliver broadcast and cinema-standard work. We set up the full audio post workflow, from dialogue cleanup through final mix. The rooms we use include China Film Group post facilities, Shanghai Film Studios, and top audio houses across Beijing and Shanghai. This makes sure your project meets both the tech delivery needs and your creative goals.

Mandarin ADR, Foley and Atmos mix through Beijing and Shanghai facilities

Post-production audio in China runs through China Film Group's Beijing post facilities, Shanghai Film Studios sound stages and the dedicated audio houses servicing iQIYI, Youku and Tencent Video originals. These are the same rooms that finish the Huayi Brothers, Wanda Pictures and Bona Film slate. Dialogue editing, ADR direction, sound design, Foley, premix and final mix all run on Pro Tools HDX rigs and Avid S6 consoles. The Dolby Atmos and 5.1/7.1 rooms are certified for theatrical, broadcast and OTT delivery.

Mandarin ADR is what sets us apart. BFA- and Communication University of China-trained dialogue editors handle Mandarin lip-sync and multi-language versioning into Cantonese, English and the regional dialects that NRTA licensing at times needs for theatrical release. Foley stages hold prop libraries tuned for Chinese period drama (silk, brocade, lacquered wood, jade), wuxia martial sequences and modern urban footwear, which covers the physical-presence layer. Sound design and worldizing then pull from libraries built for Forbidden City stone courtyards, hutong density, Shanghai shikumen, Tibetan monastery hall acoustics and Pearl River Delta tropical ambience.

The workflow starts with a spotting session against the director's edit. We walk through Mandarin dialogue cleanup needs, the ADR call-list, sound-design beats and the NRTA delivery cut. Editorial cuts dialogue, FX and Foley in parallel, and premix brings the elements together for director review at the facility. The final mix delivers theatrical print masters, broadcast stems for CCTV/Mango TV, streaming-spec stereo and 5.1 for iQIYI, Youku and Tencent Video, and Dolby Atmos for cinema release through Wanda Cinemas and CGV.

On the ground, the picture gets more specific. We plan across time zones for global co-productions, join with the production's preferred picture editor and DI house, and manage M&E preparation for multi-language versioning. A 17% VAT form goes with every invoice, NRTA delivery specs are checked before lock, and the same facilities support cash-rebates-eligible Hengdian and Qingdao shoots running tight theatrical-release calendars.

What post-production audio services do you provide?

We provide full post-production audio. This covers dialogue editing, ADR recording and direction, sound effects editing, Foley recording, sound design, premixing, and final mix. Our team can handle your entire audio post pipeline or provide single services as needed.

Do you have ADR recording facilities?

We set up ADR sessions at pro recording studios across China. Our team can arrange director-supervised sessions, provide ADR oversight, and handle remote talent recording. The facilities cover single actors through full ensemble recording.

What delivery formats do you support?

We deliver in all common formats: stereo, 5.1 surround, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos immersive audio. Our team prepares theatrical prints, broadcast masters, streaming files, and many versions as needed. We know the platform needs and QC specs for each one.

Can you work with international productions?

Yes. We often work with global shoots filming in China or needing Chinese post services. Our team runs remote sessions, knows the range of tech specs, and can plan across time zones.

Do you handle multi-language versioning?

We provide multi-language audio services, including dubbing planning, M&E preparation, and language version mixing. Our team can book voice talent, manage translation workflows, and deliver localized audio for global distribution.

What about working with our existing post team?

We stay flexible in how we join your post workflow. Our team can handle full audio post, add single services to support your existing crew, or work with your preferred editors and mixers on set parts of the job.

Productions in China that need this often pair it with Boom Operators, Location Sound Services, and Wireless Audio Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Thermal Imaging and Volumetric Capture.
