SCENE 01 / POWER SOLUTIONS

Power Solutions

Professional production power for your Chinese production.

Scroll

Power solutions for film production cover portable power packs, battery systems, solar rigs, and hybrid setups that deliver steady power in any location. The right choice depends on your load, noise limits, site conditions, and the logistics of each shooting environment.

We check your production's power needs and source the right solutions from local providers. That may mean quiet power packs for dialogue scenes, high-capacity units for big lighting setups, or battery systems for remote sites. Our team handles delivery, fueling, and tech support across your shoot.

Generators, batteries and hybrid rigs across Chinese shooting environments

Power-solutions briefs in China span a wider range than most production accountants expect. A DJI or Huawei product launch in a Shenzhen high-rise can run fully off Anton Bauer, IDX and the Chinese-made DJI Power, EcoFlow and Bluetti battery systems that have crossed over from consumer into pro cinema use — quiet, swap-out, and free of fuel logistics.

A historical drama at Hengdian World Studios with a full 18K and tungsten package needs 150–500kVA Cummins or Caterpillar tow plants. A Tibetan plateau or Inner Mongolia desert exterior calls for fuel-managed, multi-day power pack use with altitude-tuned Honda EU or Yuchai units sized for thin air. Our rental team maps the lighting load, sound-isolation needs and venue limits to the right mix of grid tie-ins, silent gensets and battery hybrids drawn from Beijing and Shanghai supplier networks.

Delivery is where the Chinese details show up. State Grid (国家电网) tie-ins are set up through licensed Chinese electricians who know the forms the Cultural Relics Bureau and venue management need. We will not connect to a Forbidden City auxiliary panel without that chain in place. Block batteries and V-mount/Gold mount stock travel with the production through customs as part of the camera kit. Full power pack packages are sourced at home and pre-tested at the depot before Yutong coach support cars or Iveco production trucks bring them to set. Our coordinator handles fuel runs, swap-out logistics if a unit faults mid-shoot, and ICP-related power needs for streaming-platform deliveries — keeping production on schedule from prep through wrap.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What size generators do you provide?

We supply power packs from small 20kW portable units up to large 500kW tow-behind rigs. Most narrative shoots use packs in the 60-150kW range, based on their lighting needs. Our team can work out the right size for you.

Are your generators suitable for film sets?

Yes, we provide super-silent power packs built for film production. These units are baffled and housed to cut noise, so they can sit closer to set without hurting your sound recording.

Can you coordinate tie-ins?

Yes, we can set up building tie-ins where they suit the site and are permitted. A tie-in often costs less for studio work or sites with enough electrical setup. Our team handles all the planning with building management.

What battery systems do you offer?

We stock V-mount and Gold mount batteries from Anton Bauer, IDX, and others for cinema cameras and accessories. We also supply block batteries for larger gear, plus full charging setups for multi-camera shoots.

Do you provide electricians?

Yes, we work with qualified Chinese electricians skilled in film production. A local electrical crew keeps you in line with Chinese rules and makes power distribution safe and smooth.

What about remote locations?

We can power shoots in remote locations across China. That covers power pack delivery, fuel supply, and tech support for sites with no easy grid access.

Productions in China that need this often pair it with Power Distribution Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Lighting Equipment Rental and Audio Equipment Rental.
