SCENE 01 / GRIP EQUIPMENT
Grip Equipment
Professional grip equipment for your Chinese production.
Grip kit is the mechanical hardware that holds, positions, and controls cameras and lighting on set. C-stands, flags, nets, silks, clamps, and rigging gear let grip teams shape light and place cameras with precision in any setting.
We source full grip packages from local suppliers, scaled to the size and complexity of your production. Our team makes sure every piece of rigging, mounting, and light-control hardware arrives in working order, so your grip department can build each setup fast.

On Location
Grip packages from Beijing, Shanghai and Hengdian rental departments
Grip packages on Chinese shoots draw from the deep stock of Beijing and Shanghai grip houses and the on-site grip departments at Hengdian World Studios and Qingdao Wanda Movie Metropolis. We then truck it all to set in the layout your key grip actually wants. Our stock holds C-stands, combo stands, apple boxes and sandbags in real working numbers. Flags, nets and silks run from pocket sizes up to the largest 20x20 frames, backed by the textiles to match — silks, solids, griffolyn, ultra-bounce and specialty muslins for everything from Beijing winter daylight to humid Shanghai monsoon-season interiors.
Speed rail, scaffolding, pipe clamps and overhead systems support rigging across the stages at Hengdian's purpose-built sets and the Beijing Huairou stages. Grip carts arrive labelled and pre-sorted, so the Chinese grip department can start work the moment the truck doors open. When the shot calls for it, MovieBird and Pegasus crane support comes in through China Customs on an ATA carnet. Chapman/Leonard stays rare in the country, so we source it per project from regional partners.
Chinese locations test grip departments in very specific ways. Forbidden City courtyards and covered siheyuan hutong sites ban all ground penetrations under Cultural Relics Bureau heritage rules. Wind off Qingdao's coastline and the Bohai Sea turns 12x12 frames into sails. Access roads to Yunnan terraced fields, Zhangjiajie sandstone columns and Tibetan-plateau exteriors cap truck size to cars that can clear narrow mountain switchbacks. We plan grip logistics around each of those limits — cart layouts for tight hutong courtyards, weighted-base options for coastal shoots, and pre-rigged overhead packages when permits allow.
The crew picture is just as specific. Chinese key grips and best boys with global feature credits from Hengdian, Beijing Film Group and co-production work stand ready alongside the gear. Our coordinator stays on call through the schedule to ship swap-out items from the Beijing or Shanghai depot, or arrange short-notice top-ups straight to unit bases anywhere from Xinjiang to Hainan.
