LED has overtaken HMI as the default key-light layer on Chinese drama, feature and commercial sets, and Beijing and Shanghai rental inventory reflects that shift hard. Our LED packages draw on Aputure (Shenzhen — global cinema-LED leader with the 1200d Pro, 600x and 300x bi-color COB series), Nanlite (Forza monolights and Pavotube RGB) and Godox KNOWLED — all China-engineered fixtures shipping to the rest of the world but available domestically at a fraction of import-tariff pricing — alongside ARRI SkyPanel S60/S30, Mole-Richardson Vari-Lite, Litepanels Gemini and Astera Titan Tube/Helios kits sourced through Beijing and Hengdian rental houses servicing China Film Group, Huayi Brothers and Tencent Pictures slates.

Here is how this works in practice. Productions shooting at Hengdian World Studios, China Film Studio Beijing, Shanghai Film Park and the Qingdao Wanda backlot specify these by name, with ARRI Orbiter held in reserve for the highest-TLCI delivery on streaming originals heading to iQIYI, Youku and Tencent Video.

Control infrastructure is built around DMX over wired and CRMX wireless, ARRI/Aputure/Nanlite/Astera proprietary apps and full grandMA consoles when productions need pixel-mapped looks or cyclorama work on Hengdian Stage 9 or Shanghai Film Park Stage 5. Battery-powered LED kits run on V-mount and Gold-mount packs for hutong interiors, Forbidden City courtyard work and Mogao Caves NRTA-supervised heritage shoots where mains tie-ins are blocked or limited.

The picture on the ground is more specific. BFA-trained gaffers and Beijing/Shanghai electric crews fluent in modern LED workflow — DMX patching, wireless commissioning, LUT-matched colour management against the DP's monitor — book alongside the gear, and packages comply with NRTA on-set monitor protocols, CFA crew rates, 17% VAT paperwork and the Chinese government on-set monitor requirement that applies to all foreign-led productions filming inside the mainland.
