Post-Production Supervisor Services

Post oversight in China runs through a tight cluster of Beijing and Shanghai studios that both global and domestic feature work pass through. This cluster spans Base FX in Beijing with its LA-linked pipeline, More VFX, Digital Domain China, MPC Shanghai, Mindwalk Studios, and Light Chaser Animation. Our post supervisors come out of that community. They hold the named producer contacts at the VFX, picture-finishing, sound-design, and music-clearance desks that the Chinese feature pipeline cycles through. They bridge Mandarin and English on dailies, review sessions, and delivery QC. They also sit inside the CFCC co-production final-cut certification workflow that gates theatrical release on each official co-production.

The picture on the ground is more specific. NRTA delivery specs for theatrical release run alongside the platform specs for iQiyi, Youku, Tencent Video, and Mango TV streaming. The global finishing layer then covers Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, and the festival masters that route through Cannes, Berlin, Venice, and Toronto.

In practice the supervisor holds the workflow from picture lock through final master. Our supervisors keep editorial cadence in Mandarin and English. They set up VFX vendor reviews across Base FX, More VFX, and MPC Shanghai, and route sound editorial and final mix through the Beijing and Shanghai mix stages. They also oversee the colour-finishing pipelines that meet both Chinese theatrical delivery standards and global HDR and Dolby Vision masters. Cross-border data movement runs through the Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law, and 2021 PIPL framework that govern footage and post deliverables leaving China.

A few details matter here. VPN limits, approved shared-work tools, named secure-transfer providers, and SAFE foreign-exchange compliance on USD/CNY post-budget reconciliation all sit on the supervisor's desk. The Qingdao 40% production rebate forms route through the Qingdao Film Bureau alongside the CFCC certification. The Hainan tropical-incentive forms close against the Hainan Provincial Film Bureau. The final master then holds against NRTA review, with the bilingual deliverables list signed off before wrap.
