Location scouting in China runs across one of the largest and most varied filming geographies on the planet. The options span the imperial Beijing axis at the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace, the Shanghai Bund and Pudong skyline, and the Zhangjiajie karst pillars that shaped the Avatar landscapes. They reach on to the Yunnan terraced rice paddies, the Silk Road desert routes through Xinjiang and Gansu, the Hainan tropical coast, and the Great Wall sections from Badaling to Jinshanling.
