SCENE 01 / MULTI CAMERA SETUPS

Multi-Camera Setups

Professional live event coverage and multi-camera production across China.

Scroll

Multi-camera setups run two or more cameras at once to fully cover scenes, events, or performances. The work spans large stadium concerts in Beijing and Shanghai and live broadcasts at Hengdian World Studios. This way boosts shooting speed, keeps the scene matched, and gives editors many angles from each take.

We build multi-camera rigs with matched camera bodies, synced settings, and joined monitor kit across Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Our team works with the broadcast setup tied to Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis and CCTV's production world, and we support Chinese and global shoots with skilled bilingual crews.

Multi-cam from CCTV Spring Festival Gala to Mercedes-Benz Arena Shanghai

Multi-camera setups in China run at a scale that matches the country's spot as the world's largest broadcast and live-event market. The CCTV Spring Festival Gala — the most-watched broadcast on earth at over 1.1 billion viewers — sets the tech benchmark for multi-camera live work. It draws on hundreds of cameras across the National Stadium and CCTV studio complex, with full OB van support, IMAG screens, and live broadcast to satellite, terrestrial, streaming, and cinema audiences at once.

Around that anchor, the Hunan TV variety capital in Changsha, Mango TV reality shows, and the iQIYI, Tencent Video, and Bilibili variety pipelines drive steady multi-cam demand. Live concert and event coverage spans Mercedes-Benz Arena Shanghai, the Beijing Workers' Stadium, the National Stadium Bird's Nest, the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, Cadillac Arena Beijing, and the Guangzhou Tianhe Stadium. Our crew deploys matched bodies — Sony HDC-3500, Sony HDC-4300, Grass Valley LDX 86N, and Hitachi 4K broadcast bodies. These pair with PTZ packages, RF wireless cameras, jib and Steadicam positions, POV minicams, and drone work through CAAC-licensed operators.

Production runs through skilled bilingual directors and vision mixers drawn from CCTV, Hunan TV, Mango TV, iQIYI, and Tencent Video rosters. They switch between cameras in real time and deliver a polished live edit alongside ISO recordings for post. Our team supplies OB van fleets fitted with switching desks, graphics power packs, replay systems, audio mixing suites, multi-language commentary paths, and full intercom kit. These tie into fibre and bonded-cellular uplinks across China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom networks.

The details on the ground get specific. We handle the NRTA, CFA, and SARFT broadcast specs that Chinese delivery needs. We also clear the MIIT range licensing that wireless camera and intercom systems demand, PSB venue approvals for public events, and the Chinese co-producer tie that foreign shoots need under China Film Administration rules. Foreign agencies booking multi-cam shoots out of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, or Shenzhen mostly lock gear and crew four to six weeks ahead. That clears venue contracts, broadcast sign-ups, and customs forms on any imported specialty gear. Our team handles the cross-border logistics from start to finish, with 24/7 event support during the live window itself.

FAQ

Live Production Expertise

How many cameras can you deploy?

We often run setups from 3 to 12+ cameras based on event size. For major concerts at venues like Mercedes-Benz Arena Shanghai or stadium broadcasts, we can deploy large camera packages that add special spots like jibs, roving cameras, and POV units.

Do you provide live switching and direction?

Yes. Our multi-camera packages come with skilled vision mixers and directors who switch between cameras in real time and build a polished live edit. We can deliver a switched program feed, ISO recordings, or both.

Can you live stream our event?

Yes. We provide full live streaming services that cover encoding, CDN delivery, and platform management. In China, we can also link up with major local platforms and Chinese-compliant streaming setups.

What about IMAG for live audiences?

We provide IMAG (Image Magnification) services for concerts and events, feeding live camera coverage to venue screens so the audience can see close-ups of performers and speakers.

Do you have OB van facilities?

We work with pro OB (Outside Broadcast) vans fitted with switching desks, tracking, audio mixing, and all the needed kit. China's broadcast industry runs some of Asia's most advanced OB van fleets.

How far in advance should we book?

For major events, we suggest booking 4-6 weeks ahead so we can lock gear and plan well. Foreign shoots should also allow time for the local partnerships and approvals they need.

Productions in China that need this often pair it with Live Streaming, Virtual Reality Filming, and Volumetric Capture for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Competition & Reality Show Production and Multi-Camera Shoots.
