Moodboard and lookbook work in China draws on a visual vocabulary that swings from the vermillion walls and yellow glazed tiles of the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven to the neon corridors of Shanghai's Bund and Pudong, the green tea hillsides above Hangzhou's West Lake, the karst silhouettes of the Li River around Yangshuo, the saturated sandstone pillars of Zhangjiajie and the dust-blown ochre of Dunhuang and the Gobi.

Here is how this works in practice. Our designers assemble references that match the texture of your project, whether that is the painterly classicism of a Zhang Yimou wuxia, the elliptical urban realism of a Jia Zhangke feature, the candy-coloured high-finish gloss of a Shanghai Fashion Week campaign, the moody Hong Kong noir of a Wong Kar-wai homage or the operatic spectacle of a Frant Gwo science-fiction set piece. Each board is built in close collaboration with your director, DP and production designer, so colour palettes, lighting references and composition studies translate directly into call-sheet decisions rather than sitting in a slide deck.

Chinese shoots reward early visual alignment because the country shifts so radically across a single schedule. Northern grasslands, eastern megacities, southern karst and the Tibetan and Yunnan frontiers each carry their own light, weather and cultural code. We deliver first-pass moodboards inside forty-eight hours, then run revision cycles through Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud so collaborators in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and overseas partners can comment in the same file.

The picture on the ground is more specific. Lookbooks scale from a tight reference document for a single-day commercial through to a thirty-page treatment for an NRTA script submission or a CFCC co-production application, with annotations on wardrobe (hanfu, qipao, Tang-dynasty silhouettes, ethnic minority textiles from Yunnan and Guizhou), set dressing, season and time-of-day that respect Chinese New Year and October Golden Week shutdowns and the Beijing winter pollution windows from October through March. The aim is a shared visual contract every department can read on the day.
